There’s a lot of my life in this little bottle.
I’ve been an esthetician for 22 years. I’ve cared for skin so many settings in a dermatologist’s office in LA, a cosmetic surgery clinic in England, and people’s homes and spas.
Three months before COVID, I went through a divorce. When the world shut down, I was trying to figure out how to support my family and keep doing the work I loved. I started giving facials on a patio. Eventually, that little beginning became Juniper Lane Skin in Ojai.
Over the years, I’ve listened to so many women share what they were carrying while lying on my treatment table. And I’ve had seasons when I was carrying a lot, too. Those quiet hours of caring for someone have always meant so much to me.
JoyWild grew out of that same place.
I wanted to create something beautiful that you could take home—a way to nourish your skin and spend a few minutes caring for yourself.
The name Drops of Jupiter goes back to being 16, listening to that song in Iowa, with so much life still ahead of me. It holds even more meaning now, after losing my dad to Parkinson’s. Music has a way of bringing us back to people and moments we wish we could visit again.
Now I’m a mother of two boys, running my studio and learning how to bring this dream into the world. Some days I feel brave. Some days I wonder how I’m going to make it all work.
But I believe in what I’ve made.
Every order, kind message, and photo of the oil in your home means so much to me. There’s a real person on the other side, feeling grateful that something she dreamed of is becoming a small part of your life.
